Climbing Classes

OA offers a variety of climbing classes ranging from beginner to advanced techniques. Classes are a great way to hone your skills in a small group setting with a trained instructor.

Rock Climbing 101:

In this introductory rock-climbing class, teaching will be interspersed with climbing and playing games to reinforce the material. The class includes an overview of gear including how to use the equipment and make sure it fits, a climbing wall facility orientation, and techniques for efficient climbing movement.

Rock Climbing 102:

Pre-req: Belay certification.

Climbing 102 is targeted to people who have taken Climbing 101 and/or have some climbing experience and wish to develop their technique. Instructors will tailor the class to the needs of the participants. Participants can take this class multiple times and improve on different skills each time. Topics will include techniques for efficient climbing movement such as footwork, hand techniques, and other advanced climbing techniques.
