Leave No Trace

Becoming an LNT Trainer or Master Educator

In order to continue OA's Leave No Trace Initiative, we offer one LNT Master Educator trip and 2-3 LNT Trainer trips each year. LNT Trainers focus on developing a personal wilderness ethic and how to teach the principles of LNT to others.  In addition to these responsibilities, LNT Master Educators, which receive the highest level of training offered by the Center for Outdoor Ethics, are also charged with training LNT Trainers and facilitating the development of this ethic in others.

The Outdoor Action Diversity & Inclusion Initiative

Creating a campus culture that values and respects diversity and encourages students to engage in civil discourse is one of the principal tenets of Princeton’s mission. The Outdoor Action Program addresses this issue as a core value in every aspect of our programming. Our primary vehicles are through small group experiential learning opportunities in the outdoors and through our student leadership development program.

The original proposal establishing Outdoor Action identified these core principles which have guided the program for over forty years:

Community Service

OA Leaders volunteer their time to help incoming freshmen learn about Princeton, to teach other Princeton students leadership skills and reach out to the surrounding community utilizing their special skills to help others. Through ourt programs such as Peak Potential at the OA Climbing Wall which providews indoor rock climbing for children with disabilities to our Leave No Trace Pogram that teaches sustainable outdoor skills to local school children, OA provides students with the opportunity to use leadership in service.
