CPR is one of the core Leader Training requirements. OA teaches both Adult CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification in adult CPR is all that is required for OA Leaders and includes CPR and Automatic Electronic Defibrillation (AED) training from the American Heart Association. OA also teaches a more advanced course--Basic Life Support (BLS) which includes CPR for Adults, Infants and Children as well as AED. This course is a requirement for lifeguards, EMTs and Wilderness First Responders. Both certifications are good for 2 years.
See the OA TripStore for dates...
Wintersession is a 2-week experience each January that brings together the entire campus community-- students, faculty, and staff. Throughout Wintersession, Outdoor Action will be offering a variety of different trips, activities, and trainings. Registration for all events will be on the Wintersession page of My.Princeton.edu November 1 through November 19.
During the year, OA Leaders are responsible for planning both single- and multi-day trips. As trip leaders, you will need to apply to lead, contact participants, plan the trip, manage equipment needs, and complete various post-trip responsibilities, such as de-issue and expense reports.
Location: Jadwin A06 Outdoor Action is offering a full Wilderness First Responder Course on campus during Intersession. WFR is heavily subsidized for OA Leaders! If you have completed leader training and led atleast 1 multi-day OA trip, the cost is only $75 Why Should You Take WFR? You travel in the backcountry as a OA Leader
