Students involved in Outdoor Action excel both in academics and in campus activities from varsity sports, to student government, and student organizations. The leadership skills they develop through Outdoor Action serve the larger Princeton campus and beyond as these students go on to be leaders throughout their careers. Here are some of the awards and prizes received by Outdoor Action Leaders.
While many people think of OA as an outdoor program, its primary mission is developing student leaders. We celebrate OA's contribution to leadership with an annual panel at Reunions where alumni leaders from the program return to share how they continue to use the leadership skills they developed through OA. Join us for a panel that brings together experts on leadership from academics, business, government, the non-profit sector and current Outdoor Action student leaders to explore what makes leaders effective and how to enhance your own foundations of effective leadership.
Save the date for Outdoor Action’s 50th Anniversary celebration on campus
Friday, September 20 - Sunday, September 22, 2024
To celebrate fifty years of Outdoor Action, we have a special event planned for all OA Alumni and Friends. Join us for a fun-filled weekend of events on campus where all generations of OA alumni and current students can meet, mingle and share the important legacy of OA, leadership and the outdoors. Like any OA event this will be engaging, experiential and explorative. Any time that OA alumni gather, it’s bound to be a fun adventure!
Wintersession is a 2-week experience each January that brings together the entire campus community-- students, faculty, and staff. Throughout Wintersession, Outdoor Action will be offering a variety of different trips, activities, and trainings. Registration for all events will be on the Wintersession page of My.Princeton.edu November 1 through November 19.
All parts of training are required for ALL Frosh Trip Leaders, unless marked "optional" or italicized.

This is the complete schedule for anyone doing FastTrack OA Leader Training during Spring Break. Everyone needs to take all 5 days of HEART Wilderness First Aid classes. To keep the class sizes small, everyone will be assigned to one of 2 groups for HEART and Technical Skills classes (X or Y), as well as a time & date for CPR.
Specific class assignments will be emailed to participants in March.
